Garton King Appliances is one of Exeter’s oldest businesses and is the South West’s specialist AGA authorised distributor. Garton King Appliances Ltd. supplies cookers, fridge/freezers, kitchen cookware, spare parts and provides servicing and repair for AGA cookers.
Garton King has been installing AGA cookers since they arrived in Britain from Scandinavia nearly 80 years ago & has been trading since 1661.
Job Location – Showroom – Darts Farm near Exeter, EX3 0QH. Parking Available.
Hours – Part Time (1-2 days per week – negotiable) 9.30am to 5.30pm – Monday-Friday. 9-5.30 Saturdays. 10-4pm Sundays. (half hour lunch break unpaid). Includes Weekend Working.
Holiday – 30 days from January including Bank Holidays. Pro rata calculated on start date. Bank Holiday Working may apply.
Showroom Assistant Retail Role – Our family run business is seeking a motivated, positive Part Time Retail Sales/Showroom Assistant for our Cooker and Cookware showroom in Darts Farm Village, Topsham. We require the person to work 1-2 days a week, including occasional weekend days. We are interested in a positive person with a can-do attitude who has the willingness to learn about our products and services and to be part of our friendly sales team.
Duties
– Welcoming & assisting customers in the showroom
– Promoting and processing Cookware sales, taking payments
– Once cooker and appliance range training has been done, speaking to potential customers regarding the appliances that we sell
– Assisting with stock displays & stock replenishment
– Processing deliveries & associated paperwork, including updating the inventory system
– Up load of new products onto the till system and the creation of subsequent labels and POS
– Maintaining showroom standards, tidying and cleaning the showroom regularly as well as the working demo kitchen
– When required, representing the company at Sales and Show events external to the showroom
– Be able to give a knowledgeable presentation of all the products and services we have available – Achieve and exceed sales targets – Displaying of all stock – Following up all customer orders to ensure their timely delivery – Cleaning and merchandising of shop floor and fixtures – Cash and credit card handling – Assisting customers with any queries promptly and efficiently.
Knowledge & Skills Required
– Retail sales/customer service experience
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– Reliable and hardworking
– Able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
– Self-motivated and proactive – Naturally positive personality with a can-do attitude – Willingness to learn new skills – Excellent communication and customer service skills – Reliable and hardworking – Passion or interest in cooking.
Hours of Work
8-16 hours a week (Monday – Friday 9.30am-5.30pm. Saturday 9-5.30 & Sunday 10am- 4pm)
This role includes working weekends (1-3 per month)
Staff Monthly Work Rota planned in advance.
